Storyline:
In a bleak future, the dictatorship of Panem is divided into 12 districts and Capitol. Each year, two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal revenge for a past uprising, the TV games are broadcast throughout Panem. 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors, while the citizens of Panem are forced to watch. When Katnisss 16-year-old sister, Prim, is selected as female representative districts 12s, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male colleague Peeta, the adversary, stronger than representatives, some people have been trained in this their whole lives.
